You hit the nail on the head with your VoiceThread. So many schools are not moving with the times. Truly, technology is an investment and expensive, but how can we expect our students to learn 21st century skills they'll need if we don't provide 21st century tools.
I think a lot of schools shy from buying these resources because they do become delapitated like you said, but if training was put in place and the support needed for maintenance then the investment would justify itself. Without support and continued training however, technology is just expensive stuff. I think schools often think its going to solve problems on its own but forget that the technology is only as powerful as its operators.
A hunger and thirst for knowledge, even though I get indigestion from all the unknowns, especially with technology. I am definitely out of my realm with technology. My new motto "technology is my friend"
